Alice Marie (Kratochvil) Wehmhoener, 75, Raytown, MO, passed away August 23, 2014. Alice was born September 30, 1938 to Milo Anton and Elbine Libbie (Stritesky) Kratochvil in Waterville, Kansas. She graduated from Blue Rapids High School, Blue Rapids, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Earl Wehmhoener, June 16, 1962 in Blue Rapids. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. She worked at Swift Company and several other companies as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Alice spent the majority of her life involved in researching genealogy and volunteer work. She was a member of the Stark County, Illinois Genealogy Society, the Jackson County Genealogy Society, and Gasconade County Historical Society. She was also a member of the Spofford Auxilliary, Jackson County Hospital Auxilliary, American Legion Auxilliary Post 596, VFW Auxilliary Post 4288, Della Lamb Auxilliary, Friends of Chicago Alton Railroad, and Shepherd’s Center of Raytown. She was past president of Shepherd Center of Raytown (6 years), Truman Medical Center (Lakewood) Auxilliary (4 years), Jackson County Genealogical Society (4 years) and UMW Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church (3 years). Alice was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Milo and Marion Kratochvil. She is survived by her husband, Earl, and by her niece, Linda Norris (Richard) and nephews, Michael Kratochvil (Andrea), Terry Kratochvil (Susan), Mitchell Kratochvil (Lara), Larry Kratochvil (Christina), Paul Wehmhoener, Dale Wehmhoener (Melodye) and several great nieces and nephews. She also leaves many friends to mourn her passing. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, August 27 at Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church and at 10:00 am on August 28. Services will be at 11:00 am at the church with burial in Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the United Methodist Women’s group.
