ALMA E. HAVEKORST Alma E. Havekorst, age 108 died on May 28, 2014 at the Care Center in John Knox Village, Lee’s summit, MO. Graveside service to be held at 1PM on Friday, June 6 at Holton Cemetery in Holton, KS. Alma was born in Herkemer, KS, on December 31, 1905, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Theel) Havekorst. She was raised and educated in Holton, KS. Alma’s passion was to be a school teacher, and she taught in rural schools in Kansas. Later, she worked for Pillsbury Mills in Minneapolis, MN, for 32 years. Upon retirement, she moved to John Knox Village, where she lived for the past 35 years. Alma is survived by a special friend, Jo Allison, 2 nieces and a nephew. Four sisters, one brother, and her parents preceded her in death.
