Born on June 8, 1973, Angela was the oldest child of Gary and Kathleen Seaton and grew up in Lee’s Summit, MO. From an early age, she was known for her exuberant personality, strong will, and the remarkable determination that would define her life. She met every challenge with resilience. Angela was authentically and unapologetically herself. Those who knew her will remember her as exceptionally intelligent, compassionate, and overflowing with life. Every room that she entered was captivated by her energy and spirit. Whether someone had known her for years or had just met her, Angela had a way of making them feel like an old friend.
Angela graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1998. She went on to build a distinguished career as a Pharmaceutical Product Liability Defense Attorney at Shook, Hardy & Bacon where she practiced for over 20 years, earning the role of partner. Throughout her career, she was licensed in Missouri, Kansas, and Florida. She authored numerous publications, taught educational courses, and presented on complex legal topics. Ultimately, her later health challenges prevented her from continuing the legal career she loved. However, her passion for learning and teaching never diminished.
In the last year, Angela embarked on her latest chapter by moving to New Orleans, a city she had long loved. It was a courageous decision that reflected the way she lived her life: choosing joy, embracing new beginnings, and pursuing what made her truly happy. There, she continued to rebuild herself, recently completing her Pilates instructor certification. She looked forward to continuing to share her personality, playlists, and passion for health and wellness with others.
Whether Angela was completing a silent monastery retreat or frollicking in the Disney parks, she lived every moment of her life to the absolute fullest. Angela was always eager to embrace new experiences and explore new identities, never shying away from change.
If there was one role Angela loved more than any other, it was being Kathleen and William’s mom. She celebrated every milestone, encouraged every dream, and was their biggest cheerleader in every aspect of their lives. She prioritized her children and made sacrifices to provide them with a life better than they could have imagined. Angela’s unconditional love, fierce devotion, and steadfast belief in those she loved will remain her greatest legacy.
Angela is survived by her children, Kathleen and William; her father, Gary Seaton Sr. (Cheryl); her siblings; and many cherished friends and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen "Kathy" Seaton; her grandmother, Angelina "Nani" (Ferrara) Hovis; and her grandfather, Milton Hovis.
A memorial service followed by a reception will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Unity Village.
Angela will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friends whose lives she enriched, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
