Funeral services are 11:00 AM Friday, May 21st at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a visitation is scheduled at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery. Anna was born August 2, 1927 to Grover C. and Anna M. (Rutledge) Gray in Glasgow, WV. As a young woman in 1945, she moved to Washington, DC where she met Billy Joe Amos. They married in 1948 and moved to Kansas City. Anna and Joe were married for 50 years and had two children, Joe and Jayni.
For many years Anna raised Boston Terrier dogs. She enjoyed raising puppies, fishing and baking. She was well-known to her family and friends for her caramel rolls. Anna enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kendra. She was a member of Gashland Baptist Church and loved her church community. Anna had a wonderful relationship with her friends and neighbors for whom she cared deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 1999.
Survivors include her son, Joe Amos and wife, Colleen of Holt, MO; daughter, Jayni and husband, Frank Carey of Lawrence, KS; a granddaughter, Kendra and her husband, Kyle McDowell of Ozark, MO; cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
