Tony Pecoraro, 96, Kansas City, MO, passed away June 28, 2018 in Kansas City. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO, 64114. Immediately following Mass, burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to Kansas City Hospice.

Tony was born September 27, 1921 in Hastings, Colorado to Joseph and Anna (Vaiana) Pecoraro. During WW II, he served in the Army Air Corps. Following his return from the service, he married Doris Mayta and they were parents to three fabulous daughters. Tony was employed with Realex Corporation for 35 years and was the Manager of Accounting/Treasurer. After his successful career, Tony volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 20+ years and at Christ the King’s food pantry where he and his family are longtime members. He was a 4th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus # 527. In addition, he enjoyed golf, model trains, and travels, but it was his love of family that defined him. He considered his sisters and their families as his own.

He was preceded in death by: his parents Joseph and Anna; a daughter, Joree Steckel; sisters Vivian Braun, Annabelle Sweeney, Joette Turner, and Irene Brown. His survivors are: his wife of 70 years, Doris Pecoraro; daughters Debby (Ed) McCay and Carol Pecoraro; grandchildren Jay (Amanda) Finks and Deanna Finks; great grandchild Devin (Joe Terranova) Finks; great great grandson Cason Henry Terranova; and many nieces and nephews.
