Antonia "Toni" Watts

Antonia “Toni” (Rodriguez) Watts, 86, beloved grandma, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Saturday, September 29th 2012 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park in the comfort of her loved ones at her side. Visitation for Toni will be held 5-7 p.m. (Rosary at 6:30 p.m.) on Wednesday at the McGilley Midtown Memorial Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., KCMO 64111. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 3934 Washington, followed by burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1150 N. 38th St, KCK 66102.

Toni, born in Kansas City, Kansas, was the 7th of 10 children born to Santiago and Severa Rodriguez. Preceded in death by her brothers, John, Pete, Joe; and sisters, Francis, Jesse, Delores, and Rita. Survivors include daughter, Sharon Rodriguez-Burns; son-in-law, Christopher L. Burns; and one grandson, Andres Rodriguez-Burns; along with brothers, Mickey Rodriguez and Sandy (Sherrie) Rodriguez. Aunt Toni’s/Granma/Mom’s legacy of creativity, cleanliness, resourcefulness, love, strength, hard work, along with the love of friends, music, good food, gardening, and dogs remains with her many nieces, nephews and her grandson, the love of her life.
