Antonio V. “Tony” Aguilar, 74, Kansas City, Missouri died on Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Cesar Chavez Avenida, Kansas City, MO . Cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the Shrine.
Tony was born on January 9, 1939 in Mexico to Enrique Aguilar and Maria de Jesus Villanueva. He was a maintenance mechanic for the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department before retiring and becoming a ‘jack of all trades and master of none’ to his family and neighbors. He was also a DJ on KKFI radio. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Aguilar, two brothers and two sisters. Tony’s survivors include five children, Marco Aguilar, Christopher Aguilar, Diane Aguilar, Elizabeth Aguilar and Antonio Aguilar, Jr.; the mother of his children, Lupe Aguilar; six grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren ‘on the way’, all of Kansas City, MO; five brothers and one sister in California and Mexico.
