ARDITH ARLENE UBBEN Ardith Ubben, 79, passed away peacefully August 18, 2015 with family by her side. Ardith was born February 17, 1936, at a farm house in Washington County, Kansas, the daughter of Neil and Agnes Justis. She grew up and graduated high school as a Bulldog with the class of 1954 in Marysville, KS, where she met her future husband, Ivan. She and Ivan would remain side by side until his passing on May 28, 2015. The longest they were ever apart was the 80 days between their deaths. Ardith stayed home to support her young family while her husband was in the Marines and attending college at Kansas State University between 1954 and 1962. After getting Ivan through college, they moved to Raytown, Missouri where they remained the rest of their lives. Once in Missouri she began her career in the banking industry working at Chrysler Credit. She would then go on to manage banks for North American Savings and Savings of America. She retired in 1990 and began volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for the next 15 years. In her off time she enjoyed sharing meals with family, traveling with grandkids, taking cruises, visiting zoos throughout the Midwest, and making a difference in people through her kindness and volunteer efforts. She also enjoyed watching high school sports, the K.C. Royals, and taking her grandchildren to KSU basketball and football games on weekends. She was very proud of her time in banking, being a longtime volunteer, and most of all her family. She was preceded in death by her “Best Boyfriend” and husband of 60 years, Ivan E. Ubben, in 2015; one son, Douglas E. Ubben in 2013; and three siblings. She is survived by two sons, Greg Ubben (Cindy) and Robert Ubben (Mandy); daughter, Laura Davis (Bud); daughter-in-law, Marcia Ubben; sister; Laree Pollock ; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to River of Refuge at 5155 Raytown Road, Suite 101, Kansas City, MO 64133 where the funds will help families in and near the community Ardith spent her entire adult life and will show support of her main core value of family.
