Arin Lynn Burgess, 40, passed away suddenly at her home in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday January 13th. Arin was born on September 16th, 1981 to parents Jack and Janice “Renfro” Burgess of Marionville, Missouri.
Arin was a 2000 graduate of Marionville High School, where she played volleyball, softball, and was a member of the yearbook staff. She continued her education with a degree in Photography at Missouri State University, and moved to Kansas City in 2006 to pursue her professional dreams in photography and graphic design. In December of 2012, she began her career working as a civilian for the US Army at Fort Leavenworth. In 2016, she moved into her most recent position as a visual information specialist with the Army University Press, where they publish the Military Review Journal. Arin loved her job, and her colleagues dearly.
Arin was a fashionista and an avid Kansas City sports fan. She also enjoyed gardening, trying new recipes and always had a craft project going! She was an active member of City Center Church in Lenexa, Kansas and enjoyed serving in her small group.
She was known for her infectious smile, hugs and big laugh. Arin loved her family fiercely and always made every effort to spend time with them. Her parents were her biggest heroes. She and her brother Adam had the same sense of humor and were constantly sharing what made them both laugh. Her little sister Andrea was her best friend, and she loved their constant adventures and endless jokes. She also took her role as "Aunt Arin" very seriously and was inseparable from her nieces and nephew.
Arin was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Perry and Ruth Renfro, paternal grandmothers Eileen Rodriguez and Faye Burgess, and her aunt Kim Burgess.
Arin is survived by her parents Jack and Janice Burgess, brother Adam Burgess and his wife Jaimee, sister Andrea Jones and her husband Brian, Grandfather Jack Burgess Sr, nieces and nephew Olivia, Gabe, and Isla Burgess, and countless cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church Marionville on Saturday, January 22nd. There will be a visitation from 1:00-3:00pm, with a service following from 3:00-4:00pm.
