Arnold “Woods” Muzquiz, 63 of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at KU Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, May 17, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar Chavez. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 5-8 pm at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm.
Arnold was born October 31, 1955 in Kansas City, KS to Heriberto and Mary Lucy Muzquiz. He worked several years as a metal finisher with Aluster. He was a Guadalupano with the Guadalupana Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine; lifelong resident of the Westside community, he always spent time making people laugh; he was that go-to guy for anything and a true Steelers fan.
Arnold’s biggest joys in life was spending time with his four daughters, Christina Muzquiz-Boyd, Erica Muzquiz-Lattimer (Robert), Mary Muzquiz-Steward and Patricia Muzquiz; his six grandsons, Desmond Boyd, Jr., Xavier Boyd, Rick McGluen, Robert Lattimer, Jr., Alexander Valdivia-Muzquiz, Joseph Lattimer and his great grandson, King McGluen.
In addition, Arnold is survived by his two brothers, Heriberto “Eddie” Muzquiz, Jr. (Lucy), William “Billy” Muzquiz (Della); three sisters, Margaret Martinez (Frank), Patricia (Patsy) Muzquiz and Beatrice (BeaBea) Salazar; nine nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Gilbert (Buckas) Muzquiz, infant brother, Heriberto Muzquiz, two infant nieces and one infant great niece.
