Our Dear Father, Arthur was one of the kindest, most gentle human beings to bless this earth. He cared not just for his family, but the people who crossed his path while he was on this earth. He loved to sing sweet songs and engage in conversations with almost anyone who would indulge him:). He always had a kind and encouraging word to say whether you were a child or an adult, always encouraging you to be a better person. Along with my mom Beauty, making breakfast, getting donuts and bread for the "seniors" in their building were some of his favorite past-times. He absolutely adored his family and tried not to miss any milestone events in their lives, he was so proud of his family and always encouraged love and forgiveness.

I met Arthur a few times when he visited Raytown during my tenure as Pastor at Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church. Members had spoken so well of him and Beauty. They had left behind a legacy of faith in action that I was privileged to share in and carry forward. 
To Arthur's family, please accept heartfelt sympathy for your loss of a father, in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather, and child of God. Be comforted with memories of his love for you and the Lord Jesus Christ, who called him home. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine up him. 

Everyone loved Arthur Soman. He was the first to greet you with his wonderful smile, followed by a hearty handshake or an all encompassing hug.  When he spoke, people listened. 
Personally, I will remember him as someone who supported and encouraged not only me but my family. 
He made a connection to his homeland in Guyana for so many of us.

To all the Soman children of uncle Arthur and aunty Beauty, I extend my sincere condolences in the loss of your father. To have lost your last parent makes you feel like an orphan. I am ahead of that curve. 
I pray that Jesus holds you close to heart to His sacred heart, as you grieve the loss of your father.  He is in no more pain and he is reunited with aunty Beauty.

Such fond memories of Arthur & Beauty from Blue Ridge Trinity Church. On a church bus trip, Arthur had us join him in doing exercises in the parking lot. He was amazing.   He was a wonderful witness of his faith.
