Arturo Xavier Martinez, Sr.

He was born on August 22nd, 1956, to the late Eduardo and Victoria Martinez in Kansas City, MO.

He lived a life centered on the people he loved most. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud grandfather and their biggest supporter no matter the occasion. He treasured the opportunity to spend time with loved ones at family gatherings and annual road trips with his sisters. On any given Sunday, you could find him cheering on the Chiefs! He never missed a game and his children will definitely miss his calls after. More than anything, he will be remembered for the love of his family and the countless ways he showed up for the people who meant the most to him.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his brother Eddie Martinez and Sister’s Victoria (Meka) Moore and Cynthia Wood.

He is survived by his life partner Robin Kelly; two children, Angela Martinez and Arturo Martinez Jr; six grandkids, Alias, Jayden, Mariah, Arianna, Josiah and great grandson Majesty; six siblings, Mary Quintero, Rosie Alaniz, Yolanda Alvarez, Monica (David) Hernandez, Theresa Alaniz, Franny (Mike) Henandez, Aurora (Joe) Camerilo as well as many other family and friends that will miss him dearly.

A Rosary will be prayed for Arturo at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Visitation will follow from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
