Augustine L. Batres, 87, Kansas City North, passed away March 11, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 15th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel.

Augustine was born March 13, 1923 in Morris, KS and had lived most of his life in Kansas City. He was an army veteran of World War II and belonged to American Legion Post 626. Augustine retired from AC&S, Inc following 36 years of employment. He was a member of the First Spanish American Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son Jamie Batres.

Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe Batres of the home; 2 sons, Augustine Batres, Jr, Gladstone, MO and Thomas R. Batres and wife, Karel, Kansas City; sister, Alice Murray, Kansas City, KS; brother Ruben Batrez & wife, Annie, Kansas City; 4 grandchildren Augustine (Andrea) Batres, III, Angela Marie (John) Brown, Jessica Marie Batres, and Lauren Nichole Batres, Kansas City; and 3 great grandchildren, Augustine Batres, IV, Anakin Batres and Ava Marie Brown;
