Aurella “Shorty” Bowery, 76, of Spring Hill, KS passed away January 30, 2011. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3rd from 10-11 AM at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be at East Slope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice.
Aurella worked for Duggins Dry Cleaners for 20 years, she was a member of Faith Temple Church in Kansas City, KS and the Avondale, MO Senior Citizen Club. Aurella always enjoyed going to the Glory Barn on Saturday nights. Three words that would sum up Aurella’s life would be; Live, Laugh, Love.
Aurella was preceded in death by her parents; Olen Shumate and Paulina Edna Tripp, her husband, Edward Bowery Jr., son, John William Bowery and grandson, Blandon Merrell. Survivors include; daughters, Carol Johnson, Connie Volanty, Tammy Bowery, son, Phillip Bowery, sisters, Yvetta Newman, Susan Winters, Jo Ann Brown, grandchildren, Dustin Merrell, Jacinda Bowery and Colton Volanty.
