Barbara Doran

Barbara, 84, of Kansas City , MO passed away February 16, 2012. Memorial service will be held in the chapel at Forest Hill Cemetery at 6901 Troost, at 11 am on Monday, February 20. Barbara was a lifelong resident of KCMO; supported her country on the home front during WWII; was previously employed by SW Bell Telephone Company; and has enjoyed assisting her children and grand children in raising their families. Barbara leaves all who knew her with a legacy of strong convictions, cheerful living, a habit of giving, a positive life perspective and a wealth of love. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Gene; sister-in-law, Irma; and a precious granddaughter, Cassie. She is survived by her brother, Ray Freeman and his large family; daughters, Janna Minner and Valerie Bashaw and their families; son, Michael Doran and his family; and many wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice House (kansascityhospice.org) because of their on-going efforts to provide a loving and peaceful environment for those who are preparing to depart this life.
