

Barbara Jean Hamlett 74, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, January 13, 2017. She was presented to her parents James and Creola Hamilton on April 18, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas. Her parents precede her in death.
Barbara lived in Kansas City most of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and shared the gospel with family, friends and whoever was willing to listen. Her children cherish her for giving them Faith in God, endurance, and determination to live life to its fullest. Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that in all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (KJV)
She leaves four children to celebrate her memory, Antoine J. Hamilton who unselfishly cared for her until her transition, Robert R. Hamlett, Jr., Lillian J. and husband Joe Fanning, and Reola B. Hamlett-Briscoe; four grandchildren, Terry L. Boldridge, Jr., Terrence D. Boldridge, Alexander A. Fanning, and Carmen R. Fanning; a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Road, Merriam, Kansas 66204.
