Barbara Jean Robertson, 82, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, passed away March 4, 2011. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, 7800 Foster Street., Overland Park, Kansas 66204. Barbara was born November 16, 1928 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and grew up in Crescent, Oklahoma. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, the University of Oklahoma, and received her Master's Degree in Special Education from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mrs. Robertson was an avid quilter and taught quilting classes at Johnson County Community College. She enjoyed volunteering and was a member of several organizations including the OU Alum Club, the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, the Scottish Club, and was also a member of KCTV5's Call for Action Team. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Robertson; and her son, Reginald G. Pitts. Survivors include her daughter, Shari A. Smith, and her husband, Stephen; son, Terrence A. Robertson; son, Richard W. Robertson, and his wife, Tracie; and 7 grandchildren. Condolences may be made at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
