Baron Avis

Barry was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri school district and was a graduate of Northeast High School. Shortly after high school, he married Onita Avis and had one child from that union. Barry later relocated to the Colorado area where he met and married Rebecca Avis, his wife of the home for twenty years. He worked in the construction industry, making a career in drywall finishing for over twenty years, until his health failed.

His brothers, David and Richard Smith, and sister Lacana Avis preceded him in death.

Barry leaves to cherish his memories; wife, Rebecca Avis, Frederick, CO; mother, Lennie B. Avis, Kansas City, MO; daughters, Kanita Avis, Kansas City, MO and Nikia Johnson, Chicago, IL; granddaughters Kyiece Avis and Kyree Avis, Kansas City, MO; brothers, Craig Smith, Denver, CO, Eugene Avis, Jr., Houston, TX; sisters, Darlene Sandy, Katy, TX, LaCretia Stewart, Aurora, CO, Nicolle Stokes (Steven), and Christina Avis, Kansas City, MO. He also leaves a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

Memorial service will begin at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Floral Hills chapel. Family will receive friends beginning at 1pm.
