Ben was a loving, compassionate and supporting father, brother, uncle and friend. His recent hobbies included flirting with his hospital and hospice nurses and learning how to use an iPhone. The latter was not particularly successful. Ben also had an unusual love affair with frosty’s from Winstead’s.
He was born in Tulsa, OK and lived in Shreveport, LA and Kansas City, Overland Park and Olathe. He attended Pembroke Hill and the Universities of OK and MO. When he wasn’t in class, he was likely up to questionable shenanigans with his friends, whom he kindly referred to as “hooligans”.
Despite his ornery behavior as a youth, he somehow raised two children and managed to instill the same ornery and stubborn traits. He was an amazing father and pivotal to their success as adults and parents.
Preceding him in death are his parents Benjamin Cullen Adams, Jr. and Elizabeth Adams (Scarritt) and his younger sister, Patricia Parker McConachie (Adams). He is survived by his sister, Betsy Adams Breed, his children SMSgt Britton Scarritt Adams (Contessa) and Alexandra DeSaix Bolbecker (Chris) as well as his grandchildren: Skyler, Elysia and Ethan Adams and Mariah, Brittany, Christian, Cameron and Scarlett Bolbecker.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 11 East 40th Street, Kansas City, MO, 6411
Ben would prefer any donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
