Bernice C. Harris, 97, of Liberty, MO passed away on October 29, 2012. Visitation will be at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel from 6-8pm on Friday, November 2, 2012. Funeral service 10am Saturday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1029 Bennington, KCMO with burial following in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Bernice was born on May 26, 1915 in Kansas City, MO to Martin & Anna (Budok) Vronz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Hamp) Harris; her parents; brothers, Tony & Jonny; sisters, Helen, Gladys, Stella & Mary. She leaves behind an only son, Bob Harris Sr.; grandson Bob (Roberta) Harris Jr; granddaughters, Rachel Chavez & Kate (Andre) Newsom; great granddaughters Jessica (William) Fitzgerald, Lauren & Emily Harris; and great-great granddaughter Sophia.
Bernice was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church and a devout Catholic. Her devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother was her proudest accomplishment. She will be remembered for her witty stories and Sunday dinners, as well as her willingness to help those in need. She will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.
