

Beth Anne Gitlin (née Clevenger) was born on October 22, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri to her parents Bruce E. Clevenger and Roberta E. Clevenger (née Howard), and is younger sister to Steven H. Clevenger.
Beth graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1987, where she was a member of the Golden Regiment Marching Band, playing the clarinet. She was also a member of Civil Air Patrol. Beth attended Central Missouri State University, earning her bachelors degree in Special Education in 1991, and her masters in Special Education after her children were born.
Beth married James (Jim) Edward Gitlin in 1998, after which they lost their first child, Ashley Renee, a couple of weeks before she could have survived outside of the womb. Catherine Jane Gitlin was born August 29, 2000, and Justin Howard Gitlin was born June 24, 2002.
Beth was a long time resident of Blue Springs and Kansas City. She taught in the following school districts: Richmond, Belton, Blue Springs, and Kansas City.
Beth joined the Lord on February 11, 2024 and is preceded in death by her father Bruce Edwin Clevenger.
In lieu of flowers Beth's family asks for donations to Paws 4 Autism, where Beth spent countless hours volunteering. The Gitlin's received Mishka as a service dog, and he was dual trained as an Autism service dog for Justin and a mobility assist dog for Beth after she became disabled following back surgery. A visitation for Beth will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
