We are full of deep love and gratitude as we celebrate Beth Latta’s life. Beth was born March 28th, 1957. She passed away from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease on Wed., September 16th, 2026. The memory of this remarkable woman will remain strong in all who were lucky enough to know her love or friendship.
A woman of deep, unwavering Christian faith, her trust in the Lord was the bedrock of everything she built. Her spirituality was not passive; it was an active, guiding force that shaped her character, her work ethic, and her steady brand of love and care for her family. Her journals were spiral notebooks filled with tiny lines of prayers that looped into the margins and headers. She prayed continuously and gave thanks to God in all circumstances.
In addition to her profound faith, she might best be described as devoted. She worked hard at her job, not because of a drive for a certain kind of career, but because she was committed to taking excellent care of her family. She always gave it everything she had. Beth earned the respect of her colleagues and peers. Described by her grandson, Max, as a true "grinder" and by her daughter-in-law, Katie, as a “total badass," she never shied away from hard work or sacrifice.
Beth was "the glue that held it all together." She poured endlessly into her family, working hard to provide a loving and peaceful home for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Beth loved spending time with family and extended family; she counted aunts, cousins and sister-in-laws as some of her closest friends, and she knew she was fortunate to have them. She thought it was “very important” to show up for family in significant ways; she showed up in all the ways.
Beth is survived by her husband Gary, her children Jake, Jill, Ross, and Bobby, and their spouses (Katie, Brittany, Molly, and Mark). She is survived by her grandchildren: Max, Harper, Maci, Ashlynn, Waverley, Colton, Chase, and Everett. Finally, she is survived by many extended family members who felt loved and cared for by Beth.
She is preceded in death and reunited in Heaven with her parents, Hurschel and Maxine, and her grandson Alex.
Please join us in celebrating her incredible life at a visitation on Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
