Betty Jean Allen

Betty Jean Allen, beloved wife, educator, advocate, and friend, was born on October 2nd, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Roy W. Jackson and Nancy V. Jackson. She entered eternity with her Savior on July 29th, 2026.

Betty dedicated her life to serving others. She began her career teaching special education in Ballard, Missouri, and later continued her work in Independence, Missouri. Inspired by her deep love for her sister, Ginger Jackson, Betty devoted herself to helping students with special needs reach their full potential. In 1975, she helped start the Special Olympics program at William Chrisman High School. What began as a local effort grew into a program of such significance that it was later adopted statewide in Missouri.

On August 12, 1983, Betty married the love of her life, Paul Douglas Allen. Together they shared 43 years of faithful marriage, building a life marked by unwavering devotion, laughter, and steadfast love.

Betty's compassion reached far beyond the classroom. As a co-founder of Mother's Refuge, she became a tireless advocate for mothers and their unborn children, offering hope, encouragement, and practical support to countless families. Her life reflected her deep Christian faith and her conviction that every life is precious.

Even after facing cancer for a third time, Betty continued to embrace each day with courage, gratitude, and joy. Those who knew her saw someone who truly lived life to the fullest. If one word could describe Betty, it would be LIFE. She loved Life, valued Life, protected Life, and lived Life with remarkable purpose.

Betty requested that her service not be one of mourning alone, but a celebration of her life, her faith, and the many people she loved. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Allen; her beloved sister, Ginger Jackson; her nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy W. Jackson and Nancy V. Jackson, and her brother, Reginald Jackson.
