Betty J. Budd

Betty J. Budd, 86, Olathe, KS, passed away February 16, 2014 at Villa St. Francis. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137 and American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, MO 64105.

Betty was born October 25, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Roy F. and Helen (Edwards) Chamberlin. She was very involved in the family business, Arrow Cold Control, for over 50 years and with the ABWA. She enjoyed bowling, loved the theater, and they loved to travel throughout the country, and camp with family in their motorhome. Betty’s favorite pastime was knitting afghans for gifts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Claud Budd, brother-in-law Don Budd and sister-in-law Carol Budd. Betty is survived by her sons Gary Budd (Nancy) and Alan Budd; brother-in-law Ray Budd (Carolyn); grandchildren Dustin Herr (Kelsey), Barry Herr (Nikki), Karl Budd, Andrea Budd and Brandon Budd; great-grandchildren Rylee, Brock, and Brandon Herr, Kaden, Hunter and Sophia Herr, and Brayden Budd; and nine nephews.
