A Visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM with rosary prayed at 7:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO. A Funeral Mass will be conducted in her honor on Saturday, Aug 24, 2019 at 1:00 PM with reception starting at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr. Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution in Betty’s memory to be made to St. Charles Borromeo Academy.

Betty was born in Avondale, MO on December 6, 1931 to Mary and John Epperson. She attended Cooley Grade School in Avondale through the 6th grade and North Kansas City High School for the 7th through 11th grade. Betty converted to Catholicism for her soon-to-be husband Clement Joseph Knoll and they were married on May 7, 1949 at the Assumption Church in Kansas City, MO. She left high school to attend cosmetology school from 1950 to 1951. Her first job was a Herzfeld’s Beauty Salon where she washed customers’ hair and gave manicures. Betty left the salon to dedicate her time to raising her 6 children. Betty and Clement loved spending time with their children playing outdoors, having cookouts, and taking outings to their family farm. After some time had passed and her children grew, Betty excitedly went back to work at the Forum Cafeteria until it closed. Determined to work, she and some of the other girls from the cafeteria began working at Stuppy’s, a design, floral, and wholesale business. She retired in 2008 at the age of 77.

Betty enjoyed many activities including, but not limited to, cooking, dancing, playing Bingo and going to the casino, and fishing. She would never turn down the chance to dance the Jitterbug and passed her love of dancing onto her children. If you asked her what her secret to fishing was, she would tell you, “you gotta put on your lipstick and be quiet.” Betty was always happy, loved her life to the fullest, and truly was a remarkable lady. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Lawrence Epperson, Edward Epperson, and Bud Epperson; sisters, Mildred Epperson and Virginia Clark. She leaves behind her sons, Gary Knoll, David Knoll, and James Knoll; daughters, Linda Knoll, Diana Brown, and Mary Knoll; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
