Betty Jo Thatcher Linn died October 21st, 2016 at Lakeview Village, Lenexa, Kansas. Born January 3, 1927 in Eldorado, Kansas to Charles W. Thatcher and Zeruiah M. Thatcher, Betty graduated from Westport High School in 1944 and attended Westport Junior College.
Survived by husband of two days short of 67 years, James Herbert Linn; five children Dave & wife Charlotte, Don & wife Candy, Chuck & wife Susan, Craig, and Jill & husband Jim Winger; grandchildren Rebecca & husband Neil Eichholz, Michael Linn, J. D. Linn, Keith, Sam & Joe Winger; and great-grandchildren Charles Eichholz and Adelaide Eichholz. Preceded in death by her brother, Robert Thatcher, and survived by her brother, Curtis T. Thatcher.
Betty was very active in PTA at Bryant Grade School and Southwest High School and with the Cub & Boy Scouts where all four boys earned Eagle rank. She was active with the Women’s Guild at Central United Methodist Church. She was, most importantly, the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that anyone could ever want.
Private family service with interment at Mount Moriah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rehabilitation Institute of KC, Pediatrics Division, 3011 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108 and Central United Methodist Church, 5144 Oak St., Kansas City, MO 64112.
