August 25, 1925 – July 4, 2018
Betty went to be with the Lord July 4th, just like the little firecracker she was, where she will be re-united with her husband, Bill, and daughter, Ruby, who preceded her in death. Betty loved the Lord and loved serving Him. She was a faithful member of her church, Village Presbyterian, where she served for many years as an usher and worked until the age of 90 in their food pantry. Betty loved life, her family and friends.
She leaves behind her brothers: Jack, Melvin, Lyle and Phillip; a daughter, Sheila (Jim); grandchildren: Jennifer (David), Mindy, David (Mel) and Logan; great grandchildren: Destany, Carl, Carlie, and Cayley; and last but never least her best friend Ed.
In lieu of flowers, Betty requested donations to her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
A visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Dear Shelia & Family.,
Just Like Aunt Betty, to go home on July 4th. She wanted to go home with a big bang!, to out show all the fireworks displays. She was always so full of live, and love celebrations. I can still remember
the day that she celebrated my 12th birthday, with a big bang giving birth to a special cousin, and her and Uncle Bill, allowing me to pick out, from the list of names they were considering to name their
"special gift" from heaven, SHEILA. , know Sorry I could not be there in person to day to celebrate Her life. But Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, today and always.
Love cousin Wanda.
