She was born on June 9, 1939 in Dardanelle, Arkansas, the second of six children to Clarence and Lois Crow.
After a devastating house fire that destroyed their home, the family moved to Kansas City, MO when Betty was in 1st grade. She started at Center Elementary School and graduated from Center High School in 1957. During her time in the Center School District, Betty was active in many activities and made lifelong friends. She continued to be actively involved in class reunions and the annual alumni picnic.
Betty was a stay-at-home mother when her children were young. She then entered the workforce
as an executive assistant at Menorah Medical Center and Research Medical Center, where she retired after working in the executive suite for more than 15 years. After she retired from Research, Betty started another career at MAST Ambulance. She worked on the MAST membership program and Caring for Kids program.
Betty was actively involved in many things during her life: the Center alumni group, bowling leagues, The Red Hat Ladies, and Red Bridge United Methodist Church. She loved to curl up with a good book and of course watching her beloved KC Chiefs.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lois Crow, her brother Bill Butler and her sister Patricia Crow.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jo Lynne Gouldie, Jackie Bohannon-Johnson (Dan), Julie Walton (Greg); 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She loved her grands and greats and went to many athletic events, school activities, and dance programs. She is also survived by her two brothers, Don Crow (Lynn) and Frank Crow (Marge); as well as her sister, Rebecca McGehee.
The family would like to thank Kansas City Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Betty and her family in her final weeks.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Mt. Moriah Funeral Home 10507 Holmes Road Kansas City, MO on Monday, March 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
