Betty June Ramsey

Betty June Ramsey, age 97, of Overland Park, Kansas formerly of Kansas City, MO. passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Olathe, Kansas. Betty was born October 24, 1923 in Kansas City, MO. the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Jurgeson) Cease.

Betty grew up in the great depression. With many struggles her Mother raised Betty and her sister with the help of her parents and Aunt Lillie. Betty had happy memories of her youth, her favorite stuffed Dog and proudly being labelled a "Tomboy." She attended and graduated from Westport Schools.

On August 16, 1941 Betty married her high school sweetheart Andrew "Jack" Ramsey in Olathe, KS. They were married for 79 years until Jack passed away in 2020. Betty was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her 4 boys. She was active with the school PTA's and taught sunday school at Calvary Baptist Church, where she has been a lifelong member. Throughout her life she was an ardent dog lover. She enjoyed dancing, camping, creating art murals from memory, Virginia Beach Art Festival. Her proudest achievement in life was her 4 good men that called her Mom.

Betty is survived by: four sons: David Ramsey of Fredericksburg, VA., Steve Ramsey of Roeland Park, KS., Gary Ramsey of Overland Park, KS. and Tim (Wife: Jeannie) Ramsey of Overland Park, KS. Four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. One half brother Charles Cease of Raytown, MO. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, one great grandson: Scott and her sister: Marjorie.

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 9:00 AM Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM.

Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
