Born on July 28, 1940, in Festus, Missouri, to Aubrey Ernest and Lelia Graham Powers, Bev was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi) whose warmth and devotion to family left a lasting legacy.
Bev graduated from Farmington High School in Farmington Missouri and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1962. That same year, she married the love of her life, Dick Bueker. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
While living in Kansas City, she took time away from nursing to raise her two young sons in the 1970s. As they grew older, she found joy in teaching preschool at Colonial Presbyterian Church where she taught for many years. Also, as an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Bev gave her time generously to the church community, forming meaningful friendships over the years.
Bev treasured her time with her grandkids and travels with Dick. The many years spent watching the deer, raccoons and hummingbirds in her backyard brought her much joy. In the fall, travels to Rocky Mountain National Park brought her quiet days of reflection with the changing colors and one of her favorites, the elk rut. Traveling to spend time with old friends from Alaska to the deserts of Arizona was full of smiles and laughter. Her unwavering love and pride in her family were constants in her life, providing comfort and joy, especially as she watched her grandchildren grow.
In her final years, Bev was loved and cared for by the wonderful staff at The Oaks of Acworth Senior Living. Their dedication, patience, and laughter aided Bev when she needed it most.
Bev is survived by her son R. Gregory Bueker (Catherine) of Bend, OR, and their children, Bergen, and Ty; her son Jeffrey P. Bueker (Lisa) of Acworth, GA, and their children, Brooklyn and Madison; as well as numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Bev is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dick, whose memory she carried in her heart every day. Together again, their love story continues.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home with a visitation being held one hour prior to the service.
