

Beverly King Degen, 88, of Lenexa, Kansas died on Saturday, October 3, 2015. She was born in Parsons, Kansas on September 1, 1927 to Gladys Cooper King and Charles Jesse King. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, she attended Southwest High School and continued on to William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. Beverly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1949. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Harold “Bill” Degen Jr.; sister, Wanda King Croasdale; brother, Charles Jesse “Chuck” King, Jr.; children, Stephanie Degen-Monroe and husband Jeff Monroe of Essex, Connecticut, John Degen and wife Katheigh of Kansas City, Missouri and Rebecca Seitz of Fulton, Missouri. Beverly “Grams” also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Judson, Simeon, Schaffer, William, Addison, Berlyn and Benjamin.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 19 at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.
