Beverly Jean (Tyler) King was born Sept. 6, 1945. She was born in Kansas City, MO to the union of LeRoy Harry Tyler, Sr. and Myra Maudean (Weldon) Tyler. She was the oldest of 11 children. Beverly was married to Melvin King for 17 years and to that union came 3 daughters Sonja, Alicia and Deena.
Beverly was preceded in death by both parents, a sister Tawana L. Tyler, and 2 brothers LeRoy H. Tyler Jr. and DeWayne Alfred Tyler, Sr.
Beverly finished High School at Redemptorist Private School and graduated 1 year early. Went into the medical field, then entered a career with the government sector where she retired after serving 30+ years.
She was a devoted Catholic as well as a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Beverly enjoyed each minute she spent with her entire family on holidays, special events and birthdays. She always remembered everyone's special day with a birthday card filled with cash money of that age, but never did she exceed $21.00.
Beverly's relaxation was Casino's, puzzle search, and computer game playing. We joked with her about getting proper rest from staying on the computer sunup to sundown. She always would deny she was tired or sleepy, but would doze off at the computer anyway.
Beverly departed and went on home to GLORY to be with THE LORD on Sunday JUNE 5, 2022 at home. She leaves to mourn Sonja J. King, Alicia D. King(Vincent Gunnels) and Deena S. King. Grandchildren: Vincent L. Gunnels, Dion R. King(Tina King), Meshia Q. Gunnels, Shawn M.B. King(Berlin King), Teesha L. King, Aaron D. King. Great-Grandchildren: Paige R. Marchbanks, Aidin V. Gunnels, MyKel R. Gunnels, Anaya D. King all of the city.
Beverly leaves siblings: Arley J. Tyler of Inglewood, CA., Dawn M. Hampton, Christopher N. Tyler(Susan) of Dallas, TX., Darren D. Tyler(Rhonda), Darra J. Tyler(Marcus), Anthony D. Tyler Sr.(Donna), and Sherilyn (Tyler) Pearl all of the city. Beverly had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives as well as plenty of people called friends.
