Born October 7, 1937, William (“Bill”) Martin Richmond was active in the Catholic Church and devoted to the rosary and daily mass. Bill is a graduate of Rockhurst High School and the University of Missouri- Kansas City school of Pharmacy, where he met the love of his life, Rosalee. He was involved in many Kansas City organizations and was the recipient of many awards in the pharmacy field.
Bill loved trains, hunting, fishing, golf, gardening and working on his yellow 1955 MG TF, numerous hobbies with his brother-in-law, Charlie, and spending time with his friends and family. After starting his career as a soda fountain boy, Bill enjoyed a successful career owning Bruce Smith Drugs for over 50 years and other pharmacies throughout Kansas City.
Bill passed away on October 19, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. Services will be on Thursday, October 24 at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street in Leawood, KS. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30am, followed by visitation until 11:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta, his parents, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosalee, queen of everything; his 5 children Debbie (D.J.), Carolyn, Janette, Mary (Matt), and Bill; fourteen grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Bill had a lasting impact on many lives and will be missed.
