Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; her daughter, Susan; her sister, Shirley; her brother, Harold; and her grandson, Zachary.
She is survived by her children: David (Winnie), Ken (Trevor), Jack (Jan), and Sharon (Chris), along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory.
Bonnie will be remembered first and foremost as a loving, caring, and supportive mother, as well as an amazing and fun woman who brought joy to those around her. She had a lifelong passion for antiquing, decorating, painting, crafting, and rug hooking. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit were a defining part of her life—something her husband Jack fondly captured in his favorite joke that he was married to a “stripper, hooker, and dealer,” referring to her talent for refinishing furniture, hooking rugs, and selling antiques.
She loved her family deeply and found great happiness in spending time together, sharing laughter, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 30, 2026, in Wesley Chapel at Resurrection, a United Methodist Church, in Leawood. It will be followed by a reception at the church. A private burial will take place afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
