Dear Cousin Catherine ... How my heart is wrenched for your loss.  It is almost too much to bear but God will give you strength as your friends pray for you.  
     How pleased we were to have had Brian as a houseguest for a night last year as he stopped over on his way to a Houston job.  It gave us an opportunity to gel for a short time with this talented young man, while even then, we had no idea of his tremendous host of skills.  
     And Jacob, my heart goes out to you and I know that you will be at your grandmother's side as you walk through the coming days together.  
    How we wish we were there with you but rest in the knowledge that God will guide you through this deep valley.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Beautifully written words about one of the kindest, talented and most giving guys I've ever met.  Our memories and good times spent with friends will remain in our hearts forever.

Mrs. Decker and Jacob,  The service Monday evening said so much about Brian and his goodness, kindness, talents and many, many friends.  My son-in-law had brought me to the service, Brian had helped Bill replace a sewer line at their home in Independence.  Because of the long line we left after the remarks from friends but I had brought a picture of Bill wearing a jacket Brian had given him which Bill wore a lot and loved. Jacob,

I worked for your dad for many years doing finish carpentry. I will always remember him as a builder who took great pride in the houses he built.

I wiil miss him, an honest man that was and old school builder that wanted perfection in his projects.

I know flying was a passion for him 
along with his other many talents, I will always think about him.

Jacob and Catherine,
I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am for your loss and how much I will miss your Brian. He was such a wonderful friend. His willingness to offer his help, expertise and kind words is an example I will always look up to and try to emulate. 

So many great memories of the moments we shared and adventure we went on keep running through my head. Today I keep landing on one micro-moment. We were fox hunting and had a great run, the kind that you are galloping through one field after another. When we pulled up to catch a breath he looked over at me with the biggest smile I'd ever seen and said "Now THAT was fun."

I keep thinking of that moment and smiling.

Brian was a special friend of Bills they had so many of the same interests.

Brian, you will be deeply missed. We haven't spoken in several years, but I have very fond memories of you. I used to work with Brian on a part-time basis, with his construction company.  He actually built our house 19 years ago. I am an airline pilot now, but back in the day when we worked together, I was working on becoming a flight instructor. Brian and I would always talk about aviation and dream of flying. May you rest in peace and may God bless you and your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Stunning loss.  I remember Brian as a good kid and hard worker nearly 40 years ago.  Remember Cathy, Johnny and Brian as a very close family.  In all my years, active in the horse community, I'm sorry our paths did not cross again.  Please accept my most sincere sympathy.  Gone too soon.

I remember all the times Brian would come to South Dakota to hunt pheasant.We became very good friends. I will sure miss hearing from him. He was a good and caring man. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you.

Brian was a man of many talents and I will miss not seeing him in the hunt field. He and Red  were a beloved team and always willing to help where needed.  Sending prayers of grace and strength to the family on the loss of Brian.

Brian was one of a kind. My son looked to him as an example of a true gentleman. I treasure the time we had together. The laughter, the tears, the excitement and wonder at how life brings the right person into your life at the just the right time. I love you, I miss you, I willsee you later in the after life. Catherine and Jacob you have my deepest sympathy. Please call me if there is anything you need.

Catherine, you have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your son.  I will keep you and Jacob in my prayers.  I remember Brian and you driving me to the airport to pick up my rental car probably 10 or more years ago when I was on my way to Lincoln.  I pray that our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, will give you peace at this most difficult time.
