Bruce Alan McKinney, 79, Clinton, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born May 5, 1935, in Kansas City, and spent most of his life in Martin City, Missouri, before moving to Belton, Missouri, and then retiring to Clinton. As a youth, he was active in 4-H and won numerous awards and ribbons for his livestock and horse-riding skills. In his later years, he was a Belton Firefighter and EMT.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bruce Alan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat McKinney, brother Donald McKinney (Janice) and his children Russ (Beth, Susan, Pam (Gary), and Carolyn; his grandchildren Evan (Nicole), Laura (Eric), Kyle, Brenna, Whitney, Allison and Heather, and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clinton Animal Shelter, clintonanimalshelter.com.
