Bubbles M. King, 74 years, of Kansas City, MO passed away December 7, 2018. A visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. In memory of Bubbles, please wear bright colors. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life with a brief eulogy and a few of Bubbles’ favorite poems from 6:30 to 6:45. A Memorial Mass will be at St. Thomas More on Friday December 14 at 9:45am.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Meiners-Hodes Scholarship Fund at Rockhurst High School.
Bubbles was born June 26, 1944 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Notre Dame de Sion in 1962 and married Gerald W. King on June 13, 1964. She was preceded in death by her father Tony Ringus; step-father Bob Anderson; mother Morita Anderson; mother-in-law and close friend Clara King; sister Jeanette Parker; and grand-daughter Katie Cussigh. She is survived by her husband Jerry King; her children Jerry King (Maureen), John King (Susan), Morita Dugan (Tom), Bill King, Kathleen King and Joe King (Angela); her sister Peggy Crowder (Bruce); brother-in-law David Parker; 15 wonderful grand-children Cameron, Clara, David, Elizabeth, Felicia, Hunter, Madeline, Maggie, Mary Kate, Megan, Morgan, Myles, Parker, Sara, and Scott; and close friends Edie Bettinger and Heather Mulcahy.
Bubbles loved the Lake of the Ozarks and spent as much time as she could there. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Kansas City for more than 50 years, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of The Shrine of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at the Lake of the Ozarks for nearly 40 years. She was very involved with Catholic Charities and was a foster parent to 35 children. As the family historian, she produced 10 family rosters and maintained dozens of family books for the Meiners-Hodes family. She was an avid reader of mystery books and enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, making candy, puzzles and spending time with her friends and family. She was loved by many. She taught us that Families Are Forever.
