Born at Shawnee Mission Medical Center on August 30, 1991, Camille was raised in Gladstone, MO. She graduated from Oak Park High School, and then her adventurous spirit took her to San Diego, California, where she studied at Healing Hands School of Holistic Health and became a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Camille worked multiple jobs in her lifetime, often simultaneously, and all with a purpose to benefit humanity, and to exercise her compassion and love for those around her. In the past, she worked in a psychiatric office, working with people with mental illness and helping them to receive the care they needed. She worked for Spectrum Chiropractic as a massage therapist for many years, helping treat and heal everyone she touched, and with open arms and open heart which made everyone who entered here feel safe and respected, no matter their background, no matter if they were marginalized elsewhere in their lives. There, she was beloved by all of her clients, who raved about how much Camille has personally helped them manage their pain, injuries, and wellness. She also was working for BioLegend, acting as support to her team mates which would then go on to help develop antibodies for research and medicine, including the development of the COVID-19 tests. A budding naturalist and amateur botanist, with a passion for nature, she also received education as an herbalist under the tutelage of Sage Country Herbs in California. She often would go on nature walks with friends and family, and couldn't help but teach everyone around her everything she knew.
Beloved “baby girl” to her mother and father and devoted “Auntie” to the little ones in her life, Camille was there for the upbringing of four of her beloved nephews, to be there for them, play with them, educate them, and tell them when it's time for an “Auntie Time Out”. A creative eye and a warm personality, she made everyone around her feel at ease, putting others needs and comforts before her own to a fault. Her presence alone could make a sterile room feel cozy, along with all of her knick-knacks, string lights, and of course her love of all things miniature, cute, and tiny. Her enthusiasm for life and adventure was contagious. She truly entered the hearts and souls of everyone and everything she came into contact with, leaving a lasting impact that will never die, with sparkling green eyes that will forever live in our mind's eye.
Camille is survived by her parents Gregory and Rosemary Mackey; her siblings Kelly Rollins and husband Chris, Kurtis Mackey and wife Andrea, Eric Mackey, and Melody Mackey and husband Jeremy Cranfill; her nieces and nephews Brodie Rollins, Andrew Rollins, Austin Rollins, Gabriel Rollins, Genevieve Mackey, Alexander Mackey, Michael Mackey, Christopher Mackey, Katherine Mackey, Jonathan Mackey; and grandparents Judi Ganote Engelage and Robert Engelage, Jerry Mackey and Joan Mackey, Roger Wilson.
Camille is preceded in death by Ellawee Ritter, Opal Ritter, Fred Mackey, Gladyce Mackey, Audrey Schnitker, and Lee Schnitker
