Dear Callie, A few months have passed but I am sure that your Mom's death still feels like yesterday. I enjoyed meeting your Mom at your bridal shower and wedding. She seemed so strong, active and happy. I remember how she and your Dad made the long difficult drive to Mississippi for the shower, even though it was only your little girl students. She told me how impressed and pleased she was to see how many people loved you here in Mississippi. Grief may come in waves for a long time. But little by little, sadness will fade to peace and happy memories. Be comforted knowing that your mother is with the Lord, and that each day on this earth is one day closer to seeing her again. Love, Leah McDowell

Dear Cooper family,
God called one of His angels home when Carla joined His heavenly chorus. As a long ago member of Leawood Baptist, one could never forget Carla and her children bouncing about joyously singing and playing in Sunday School. Carla was a dynamic, yet gracious, personality who always shared her witness with a little smile and dancing eyes. Randy found a gem when he met Carla.

May God surround you with His healing and loving embrace as He has Carla.

Carla was truly a woman of God. Everything she did was for His glory and not her own. I knew her for over 30 years and was fortunate to sing with her on many occasions. The talent and skill she brought forth were truly a blessing to me in my life. I know she is in Heaven now organizing a choir to continue singing praises to our Lord and Saviour. My prayers go out to Randy, Corrie, Callie, Colin and Bea and Charlie. She will be greatly missed. Jewel

Carla and Randy were my youth small group leaders in 1977, what a testimony of continued faith in the Lord as both she and Randy served God thru these many years at Leawood Baptist Church. As I write this the memorial service is beginning and if I were able to be there I would thank you Carla and Randy for your obedience to serve God and touch the lives of young people. You touched mine. Carla sang at my wedding almost 32 years ago and I know she is praising God in heaven today! I pray God will comfort your family greatly in the coming days of sadness.
Phil 1:3 - I thank my God every time I remember you.
