

Clara was born June 16, 1919, in Kansas City, the third of 7 children to Salvatore and Rose Bianchino Cropis. She attended Jane Hayes Gates finishing school. Her first job was working in the family-owned grocery store and she also worked at Brand & Puritz Coat Factory. Clara wed Peter Philip Licata in 1939, moved to Raytown in 1951 where they raised three children.
After Peter's death in 1975, Clara worked at Putsch’s Carousel at Blue Ridge Mall. She was a familiar face at Putsch’s for 10 years never missing a day of work. She was a member of the church choir and Altar Society at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raytown.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband Peter, daughter JoMarie Greenawalt & son Philip Licata.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Licata Freeman of Kansas City; grandchildren Steffani G. (Bill) Blackstock of Highlands Ranch, CO; Anne (George) Walsh of Westminster, CA; Melani Greenawalt of Lee’s Summit; Amy (Kevin) Root of Lee’s Summit; Alison (Dennis) Carroll of Lee's Summit & Aaron B. Kruse of South Dakota;10 great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Victor Cropis and Josephine Mirabile, of Kansas City, & many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, May 13, at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 777 NE Blackwell Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Mass to be held at 11AM. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City.
