

Carmen Soltero, 81 years old from Kansas City, MO, loving mother, wife and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home with her family on Friday Sept. 14, 2012. She was born on January 7, 1931 to Josefina Rocha and Gregorio Tinoco. She married Robert Soltero and together they raised 3 children. She will be reunited with her mom, dad and brother, Gabriel Tinoco, Sr. She worked 40 plus years for Qualix in the photo finishing department as a production printer developer and operator. She will be remembered by all for her extensive community and volunteer services at the Guadalupe Center and Guadalupanas for the past 20 years. In 2000, she received the Dorothy Gallagher Award for service and dedication to the Westside Community. She was a sweet, fun loving and compassionate person who never complained about hard work. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert; sons, Gary (wife, Theresa) and Larry; daughter, JoAnn; grandchildren, Dominic, Stefen, Joseph and Victor; brothers, John Sr., Albert Sr. and Joe Tinoco.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept.20, 2012 at the Guadalupe Shrine, 907 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, Kansas City, MO, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at the Guadalupe Shrine, followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas City, MO. The family suggests all donations go to the Alzheimer Association and the Guadalupe Shrine. Her smile and joyful personality will be deeply missed.
