

Carol married her first love Ernest (Ernie) Conner in 1960. Carol graduated from Central High School. She then graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rockhurst University and Research College of Nursing. Carol had a fulfilling career in health care. Her career began as a critical care nurse. She also worked in several physician practices. Found her passion working with children needing psychiatric care at Crittendon Hospital. Carol was recruited to Research Psychiatric Center where she was Admissions Director, Risk Manager and Director of Quality Management. She also excelled at Research Psychiatric and made many lifelong friends. Carol and Ernie became consultants for a hospital group in Saudi Arabia and when Ernie retired, they began a new adventure, and they moved to Jeddah Saudi Arabia in 1994. Ernie was project manager building a new hospital. Carol had multiple positions, Director of Nursing and established a full medical staff. Carol also started the first Home Health Care Program in Saudi Arabia. (And is still in business) Carol also helped set up a Quality Management Program and participated with others across the country.
During their time in the middle east, they took advantage of the ability to travel around the world – TWICE and fell in love with so many different cultures, foods and people. Also collected lots of treasures.
Returning to Kansas City they were greeted by their first grandchild, but neither of them could stop working. Carol returned to work helping physicians to set up new practices.
Carol’s love for her family and friends was ever present. She leaves her husband of 65 years (on August 20, 2025) and the love of her life Ernest Conner. They were seldom apart. Carol leaves daughters Jacqueline (Jaci) Blinzler of Parkville, MO and Suzette Conner of Greenwood, MO. She leaves the other loves of her life, two special grandchildren Conner Blinzler and his wife Shelby of Parker CO and Madison Baldwin and her husband Brady of Overland Park KS. Carol also leaves her sister Nancy Laing of Bettendorf IA and brother Tom Rowe and his wife Liz of Stuart FL. She will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of special friends.
