Carol married Elmer “Skip” Neville on June 29, 1968, and they shared 58 years of marriage. They first met two years earlier at the local roller skating rink—an early moment that grew into a lifetime marked by steady devotion and enduring faith.
Carol graduated from Van Horn High School in 1969, where she participated in the “Sweet Adelines,” a young women’s choir. In the years that followed, she met life with the quiet strength of someone who never hesitated to do what needed to be done. Her hard work showed through the many jobs she held over the years, including positions with Macy’s, Sam’s Club, and Padgett Thompson.
Together, Carol and Skip raised three children: Mitchel James, Kevin Louis Neville, and Megan Nicole. Carol’s greatest success was being the best mother—giving of herself without measure, loving deeply, and making sure her children were always cared for. Her legacy is one of steadfast service to her family, lived with humility, diligence, and a faithful heart.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Marguerite, and her brother, Jimmy Painter.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Elmer “Skip” Neville; her children Mitchel James (Jennifer) Neville, Kevin Louis (Tracie) Neville, and Megan Nicole (Stephen) Wilcox; grandchildren Natalie, Zachary, Michael, Katelynn, Emma (Daniel) Miller, and Greenleigh; and great-grandchild Hudson, son of Emma.
