Carole Jeanne Wright, 67, Overland Park, KS, devoted partner, mother, and grandmother, passed away December 30, 2014.Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service on Friday, January 16, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Carole was born October 22, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of the University of Kansas where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. She was an avid traveler, lifelong NY Times crossword puzzle expert, skilled Scrabble player, and a master crocheter.
Carole’s wit and quiet grace touched all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Wright. She is survived by her mother Marie Wright of Sanford, NC; partner Mike Wheeler of Overland Park, KS; daughters Lisa Nocita (Nick) and Jennifer Thomas of Leawood, KS; stepsons Michael Wheeler (Angela) and Shawn Wheeler; stepdaughters Michelle Wheeler and Aimee Bultemeier; sister Kim Wright and family; brother Rob Wright and family; grandchildren Allison and Parker; step grandchildren Michael, Madeleine, Gregory, Lexys and Londyn. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation, a favored charity.
