Caroline was born in Kansas City, MO to Howard and Mildred Drane in 1940. She graduated from Southeast High School with honors and was a semi-finalist for a National Merit Scholarship. Caroline graduated from Lindenwood College in Hazelwood, Mo with a degree in English and History.
Caroline retired from AT&T in 1989 but continued to do contract work for a number of years. Caroline continued her life-long pursuit of learning thru travel, membership in book clubs, Spark, MENSA and a Great Decisions discussion group.
Caroline is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph G. Sanders in 1992; and, her long-time companion, Bernard J. (Jack) Vercoglio in 2017.
