

Carolyn Bleish passed away on June 10th, 2016 at the age of 90. A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 13th at the Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 W. 83rd Street, Leawood, Kansas. The funeral service will follow starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Corinth Cemetery, Prairie Village, Kansas.
Carolyn was born February 12th, 1926 in Maryville, Missouri. She was the single child of Clarence G. Vogt and Mary Wooldrige Vogt. She was a graduate of Maryville High School, attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA., and graduated from the University of Missouri. She was member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She married William M. Bleish on June 4th, 1949, a marriage that was to last 62 years, until his death in 2011.
Carolyn had a full and active life as a wife, mother and grandmother. She had many hobbies, including gardening, crafting, antiques, bridge, and theatre. She was a room mother at Somerset Elementary, Cub Scout den mother and Bluebird leader, elder at Leawood Presbyterian Church and board member of the Leawood Women's Club. She was one of the longest tenured residents in the city of Leawood, (over 55 years) and last lived at the Benton House of Prairie Village, located on the same grounds she sent her children to grade school.
She was congenial, always positive, quick with praise, and a tireless worker who led by example.
Carolyn is survived by children Steven Bleish (Mary Ann), William Bleish (Patricia), Timothy Bleish (Kathryn), Mary Thompson (Paul), thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Leawood Presbyterian Church.
