Catherine Constant was born in Slater, Missouri, where she graduated from high school before moving to Kansas City in 1947. After graduating from beautician school, she worked as a beautician in Brookside until she married her husband, Paul, in 1949. They had met at Community Christian Church in 1947. After raising her family, she worked as Office Manager in her sons’ business. She was a devoted mom who worked diligently to care for, to encourage and to support her children in all their endeavors. She was tirelessly active in the lives of her grandchildren and, as she was able, her great-grandchildren. Praying for them, cooking for them, sewing for them, reading to them, and playing with them, she was always available. Raggedy Ann dolls - hand made with love - for each of her granddaughters are their prized possession. Her entertaining yearly New Year Eve parties for her grandchildren were amazing! She made her house a warm home where all felt welcome and comfortable – ALWAYS! Beyond family, she was a devoted friend to many, blessing them with her love, her prayers and countless personal gifts. She was a faithful Christian, devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved the Word of God. She was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church and Bible studies with many special friends. She played the piano and loved to read, to sew, to scrapbook, and to garden. She is loved deeply and loved dearly. She will be missed exceedingly by many. What wonderful memories of the Constant family from back on Meyer Boulevard. Catherine was an amazing woman - so grateful you’ve had her so long. May the Lord comfort and care for you all as you grieve her home-going.
