Catherine Ann Julkowski

Catherine Ann Julkowski 71, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on January 26th, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 777 Blackwell Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086 with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held Friday, January 29th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Margaret's of Scotland Catholic Church.

Cathy was born July 7, 1944 in Kansas City, MO. She was proudly adopted by Louis and Mary Ellen Emert when she was an infant. She attended St. Catherine's of Siena grade school and graduated High School from St. Teresa's Academy. She was happily married to Wally for 53 years. Her son, Danny, made her proud to be a mother. He will always be her "baby."

She worked as a mail girl for Skelly Oil Co., modeled for Rose Dorn Agency, was a secretary for Howel Mouldings and a secretary for C.A. Enterprises Inc. She was Miss Kabota and Miss Ford for the Tractor Shows at the American Royal. She was an excellent seamstress who sewed many beautiful bridal gowns and bridesmaid gowns including her own daughter-in-law's bridesmaid gowns.

She was most thrilled being a grandmother when Danny and Theresa adopted Irene and Esthela from Mexico. She thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow up into young ladies. But her most recent joy was the birth of her great-granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth on December 26.

She was a proud Irish Catholic who was a member of St. Margaret's of Scotland Parish in Lee's Summit where she had a wonderful group of special friends. Her other enjoyment was chair yoga. She didn't call it a workout because it was her social outlet. She said she never sweated; just glistened. Yay Yoga! She loved her jewelry, high heel shoes, fashion, pets, and especially all her family and friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Ellen Emert and her brother, Bob.

Survivors include her husband, Wally Julkowski, her son, Danny and his wife, Theresa Julkowski, two grandchildren, Irene and Esthela Julkowski and her great-granddaughter Anna Elizabeth, all of Lee's Summit.
