Cathy was born in Kansas City, MO on September 8, 1960. She was a proud graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School Class of ‘78, where she participated in choir, STUCO and French Club. Active in theatre, she was honored to be a member of the Advanced Repertory Theatre. She performed in many plays at North and at Theatre in the Park. Cathy went on to graduate from the Kansas University School of Law, where she earned a bachelor’s in French Language and Literature and a Juris Doctorate of Law. Her career in law included work as a Senior Corporate Attorney at Koch Industries in Wichita, KS and as General Counsel for Ferrellgas in Liberty, MO.
Cathy is survived by her brother Doug Sayles, wife, Paula, and their three children, Megan Mobley (Matt) of Gardner, Tiffany Wheat of Overland Park, and Buddy Sayles of Shawnee. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Sayles, her mother June Sayles, and the love of her life, Jamie McKim.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
