Charles Thomas Hestand, age 58, passed away on April 4, 2015 at his home in Liberty, Mo., after a long illness. Charles was born November 16, 1956 in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Grandview High School in 1975. He completed studies in electronics at Findlay Engineering College in Kansas City and was employed as an Instrumentation Specialist at Clinical Reference Laboratory in Lenexa, KS. Charles had a gift for diagnosing and repairing all things mechanical and had a lifelong fascination with astronomy, cars and jazz music.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Joyce Hestand. He is survived by father Clyde Hestand, step-mother Carol Hestand, sons Christopher and Daniel, sister Kim Medina, and brother Jeff Hestand, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation 12:00-1:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes, with a memorial service immediately following from 1:00-2:00 pm., Friday, April 10, 2015. Donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society
